Automated OCT and fundus imaging, simplified

The Optovue Autofusion from Visionix is a fully automated, non-contact dual-modality imaging system combining high-resolution spectral-domain OCT with a non-mydriatic digital fundus camera. Designed to simplify ophthalmic imaging workflows, Optovue Autofusion delivers consistent, high-quality results with minimal operator input.

With automated alignment, tracking, image capture and reporting, Autofusion enables efficient delegation while maintaining diagnostic confidence across both anterior and posterior segment imaging.

Automated dual-modality imaging in a single device

Optovue Autofusion integrates OCT and fundus photography into one compact, self-contained system with a built-in operating platform. No external PC is required, reducing installation complexity and technical risk.

Key platform features include:

  • Spectral-domain OCT with up to 80,000 A-scans per second

  • Non-mydriatic 12 MP fundus camera for true-colour retinal imaging

  • Fully automated acquisition, initiated with a single tap

  • Integrated touchscreen interface with tilting display for ergonomic use

  • Automatic eye tracking and focusing, ensuring consistent image quality

  • Compact, delegation-ready design, ideal for busy clinical environments

This combination transforms OCT and fundus imaging into a fast, repeatable process suitable for routine clinical use.

Fully automated workflow

Optovue Autofusion is designed to minimise operator dependency while maximising efficiency. Once a scan mode is selected, the system automatically:

  • Aligns to the patient’s eye

  • Focuses and tracks in real time

  • Captures OCT and fundus images

  • Generates measurements and reports instantly

Macular and optic nerve imaging can be acquired in a single continuous 3D scan, streamlining examinations and reducing chair time. When the optional Cornea Anterior Module (CAM) is fitted, anterior segment imaging follows the same automated workflow.

Posterior segment imaging

Optovue Autofusion provides detailed structural assessment of the retina and optic nerve, supporting routine care and longitudinal follow-up.

Posterior segment capabilities include:

  • Macular OCT with ETDRS thickness maps and volumetric analysis

  • Optic nerve head and RNFL analysis, including cup-to-disc metrics

  • Ganglion cell complex (GCC) analysis

  • 3D wide scans combining macular and optic disc data

  • En face OCT viewing with OCT–fundus overlay

  • 3D visualisation of retinal structures from user-defined perspectives

These tools support confident assessment of retinal and optic nerve structure in a fast, standardised manner.

Anterior segment imaging (optional CAM)

With the optional anterior segment module, Optovue Autofusion extends imaging to the front of the eye, providing automated capture and analysis without changing systems.

Anterior segment capabilities include:

  • Corneal pachymetry maps

  • Anterior chamber angle assessment

  • Quantitative angle measurements for glaucoma and surgical planning

  • Automated acquisition and reporting, consistent with posterior workflows

This makes the device suitable for clinics requiring both anterior and posterior structural imaging within a single platform.

Comprehensive reports and follow-up

Optovue Autofusion generates clear, pre-formatted reports for each scan mode, designed for clinical decision-making, follow-up and documentation.

Reporting includes:

  • 3D macula reports with ETDRS and GCC analysis

  • 3D optic disc reports with RNFL and ONH parameters

  • Wide and radial scan reports for detailed structural review

  • Follow-up reports highlighting structural change over time, including RNFL trend analysis and significance mapping

  • Exportable outputs, supporting printing, sharing and DICOM integration

These reports support early detection of change and consistent longitudinal monitoring, particularly in glaucoma management.
