Online bookings for ‘Glaucoma care: the next generation’ at Optrafair 2020 now open!

We are pleased to announce that online bookings for the ‘Glaucoma care: the next generation’ sessions at Optrafair 2020 are now open.

The 45 minute sessions will take place on Grafton Optical stand D80 and will be run by Dave Taylor and Maria Grimaldi from Reichert Technologies.

Attendees will gain hands on, practical insights into why the Corneal Hysteresis (CH) and IOPcc parameters represent the future of Glaucoma diagnosis and care. These metrics, which are exclusive to the Ocular Response Analyser® G3 (ORA) and the 7CR Auto Tonometer, are saving practices time and money as virtual clinics are adopted, aligning diagnostics with local hospitals, improving decision making and facilitating earlier intervention for better patient outcomes.

The CH and IOPcc metrics have been covered in over 700 clinical papers to date.

ORA® G3 is the only device to measure CH (as discussed in the NICE MEDTech Innovation Briefing), which has been shown to be a superior predictor of glaucoma progression. In addition, the ORA® G3 also provides Corneal Compensated Intraocular Pressure (IOPcc), a better indication of the true pressure, proven to be less influenced by corneal properties than Goldmann or other methods of tonometry. This reading is also available in the 7CR Auto Tonometer which gives IOPcc as well as an IOPg reading.

Despite improvements in treatment options, Glaucoma remains a leading cause of blindness with no cure. Diagnosing and predicting glaucoma progression is challenging due to the wide variety of risk factors. Different glaucoma patients with similar risk factors may progress at dramatically different rates, which is unnerving to patients and clinicians alike.

Since CH has been shown to be more predictive of future visual field progression than other factors, including this parameter in assessment of glaucoma risk is improving glaucoma decision making and facilitating earlier intervention for those who need it, resulting in improved patient outcomes.

Now is the time to change. Don’t get left behind.
